Bows & Bubbly Dinner Party

The holiday season was made to gather friends & family for a holiday party! This year I hosted a bows & bubbly themed Christmas Party with the girls and it turned out SO cute that I had to share it with you all so you can recreate. Grab your besties and enjoy good food, laughs, sips and make memories together!

To take some the stress out of holiday hosting I want to share with you all inspiration in this blog post to recreate this into your own! You will find a editable invitation and all the details below as well as links to everything I used!

The theme for this party was BOWS AND BUBBLY! I made an entire backdrop of bows I made using plastic tablecloths (such an inexpensive way to make a home look holiday ready), I used bow wrapping paper as a table cloth (which also made for easy clean up) and of course we exchanged gifts through a Favorite Things Party!

Pro tip:

Make food you can easily prepare in advance! I made my mom’s cheesy meaty lasagna and caesar salad- both which I prepared the day in advanced (I made the entire lasagna in a tin tray and covered it so it would be ready to cook the next day and I peeped the salad by making the salad dressing)

For an appetizer I made a huge cheese and charcuterie board and had out an onion dip and chips.

For dessert I made Christmas Crack and Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Bows on candle sticks always add a festive elegant touch! This is the BEST ribbon I have found for making the most perfect bows. It’s high quality at a great price!

Below you will find an editable invitation & menu card to make hosting this party that much easier! Simply add in your party details and send out the invitations to friends.

Favorite Things Gift Exchange:

This is a fun party where guests bring 2-3 of identical copies of an item unwrapped that they genuinely love (within a set budget, like $20-$40). When playing the gift exchange, each person stands up and shares why they adore the item, and then numbers are drawn who goes first. Everyone leaves with a few new, useful, or delightful items from their friends. You can play with or without stealing - I played mine without!

I sent the following card below to everyone I invited to the party so they knew exactly how the gift exchange worked. I will also leave a link of the most taken and wanted gifts at our party!

Three EASY holiday games I recommend playing:

1) BAG- all you need for this game is a paper bag. People take turns trying to pick up the bag with only their mouth. When they pick it up they rip the piece off with their hands that the bit and put it back on the ground. The bag will slowly get smaller and smaller and guests have to try getting it without using any hands to help. This is SUCH a fun game and will have everyone howling!

2) Merry Christmas Candles- You will need tea light candles for this and a lighter or matches. I used 18 candles in total but you can use less or more. Set the candles up in a row (I highly suggest you put something down on your table so that any candle wax doesn't spill). Light the candles and everyone takes turns saying ‘Merry Christmas’ trying to blow out as many candles as they can in one shot. There is some strategy here! I totally lost this one and only blew out one candle lol! It is a fun one!

3) Holiday Streamers- You will need streamers for this game- I tried to get the larger ones but also found these discounted ones on amazon that came in bulk. Everyone will get one roll of streamers and the goal is to unravel it the fastest by only using your hands to let it all out. People can really put their whole body into this! Whoever gets the streamer undone the fastest wins. I did a few rounds of this until we got a final winner.

CRANBERRY HOLIDAY SPRITZ:

The biggest holiday hack of all is flipping that cake stand upside down and use as your punch bowl 🤩 You can use any punch bowl you’d like for this. It is easy to prepare in advance of a party. Just be sure to add your prosecco in right before people come over so it stays bubbly and add in ice at the very end to keep it cool.

What you’ll need (serves 12-15)

🥂 2 cups cranberry juice
🥂 2 cups Aperol
🥂 1 cup sparkling water
🥂 1 bottle of Prosecco (add this right before serving)
🥂 cranberries, rosemary & orange for garnish
