Ingredients for CHEESE ball TREE
It’s hard to believe that something so delicious is SO easy to make. A cheese ball has been a go to appetizer for decades so I thought why not take it and turn it into a festive TREE! It is really easy to make and you can prepare the cheese ball a day in advance which is fab if you are hosting a party and want to plan something to prep ahead of time.
Find the ingredients below so you can make these:
🧀 cream cheese
🧀 cheddar cheese
🧀 crispy prosciutto
🧀 sour cream
🧀 garlic powder
🧀 salt & pepper
🧀 parsley or chives
🧀 Milton’s Crackers
🧀 cheddar or havarti cheese star
I added a Havarti cheese star on top which sticks right into the cheese ball, no toothpick required. I also saved some of my cheese ball to add onto the base on my platter to resemble snow.
Crispy prosciutto really makes the taste of the cheese ball so don’t skip out on that part! It is SO easy to make. just lay slices of prosciutto on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 400 F. Let cool for 5 minutes and break the slices up right into your cheese ball. It adds a nice salty savory bite. If you prefer not to include the prosciutto at all, you can do that too!
If you want to really wow your guests then after the cheese ball tree is prepared, grab a sifter filled with some grated parmesan cheese and tap it onto sprinkle on top of your tree to resemble snow! You could always do this part in front of your guests for a WOW factor!

Cheese Ball Tree
A show stopping savory appetizer that is going to blow your guests away this holiday season! It only requires a few ingredients to make this cheese ball and is oh so festive turned into a tree!
Ingredients
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- 3 slices of prosciutto (read below how to crisp it up)
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt & pepper
- 1 tbsp parsley or chives
- 1 package of Milton’s GF Crackers
- cheddar or havarti cheese star (to add to the top using a cookie cutter)
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 400 F and add slices of prosciutto to a baking sheet wlined with parchment paper. Bake prosciutto in the oven for 7-9 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes and then it will be crispy and ready to break into pieces to add to your cheese ball.
- Add all of your cheese ball ingredients to a bowl and give it a good mix. Taste test to make sure you like the flavor (you can always add in more of something at this time).
- Add your cheese ball mix to plastic wrap and use the wrap to mold in shape into a tree. Put in the fridge for 5-15 minutes to set (you can also leave it in there overnight if you want to prep it ahead of time. *save some of the cheese ball for the base of the board*
- Spread any extra cheese ball mixture on a board or platter, then add your cheese tree in the middle.
- Add in your crackers starting at the bottom all the way to the top. I suggest using Milton's GF crackers as they are the perfect shape to fit into the tree.
- Add a cheese star on top by using a star cookie cutter with havarti cheese and ENJOY right away!!
- OPTIONAL: use a sifter filled with some grated parmesan cheese at the end to sprinkle on top of the tree to resemble snow! This is fun to do in front of your guests as that WOW factor!
Make sure your cheese ball is out of the fridge for at least 10 minutes before offing on the crackers- it makes it easier to mold into a tree, stick in your crackers and cheese is best served at room temperature for optimal flavor!
