Turkey Meatballs

My mom’s homemade meatballs are ones we make WEEKLY! They are made lots of fresh herbs inside and come out so juicy and tender cooked in the crockpot. They will become a staple in your dinner rotation.

This easy meatball recipe is so easy to make and come out juicy and flavorful every time. They’re perfect for appetizers, subs, sandwiches or on top of spaghetti! Sometimes I make them full sized or make them mini when hosting. They freeze really well for meal prep as well. Just prep them, wrap in foil and freeze for up to a few moths for easy dinners.

Ingredients for homemade easy turkey meatballs

Find below everything that I included to make these turkey meatballs. Unlike beef, ground turkey is super lean and high in protein. Don’t get me wrong I love Italian meatballs made with a mix of ground meat, but for a healthier version I opt for these. They come out so juicy and tender when cooked in the crock pot. You can also bake them in the oven too which I will give you cooking options below for.

  • ground turkey

  • egg

  • panko bread crumbs

  • Parmesan cheese

  • resh minced garlic

  • finely chopped onions

  • salt & pepper

  • chopped fresh parsley & basil

I like to serve these with pasta as a typical pasta and meatball dinner with some homage tomato sauce or just a jarred tomato sauce works too. You can also serve them with garlic bread or a salad. I have also made them mini for Friendsgiving and dinner parties before to serve them up as more of an appetizer style!

Easy Homemade Turkey Meatballs

My mom’s homemade meatballs are ones we make WEEKLY! They are made lots of fresh herbs inside and come out so juicy and tender cooked in the crockpot. They will become a staple in your dinner rotation.

Ingredients

  • two packages ground turkey (~40 oz total)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 2-4 cloves fresh minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onions
  • salt & pepper
  • chopped fresh parsley & basil (around 1/4 cup total of both mixed)

Instructions

  1. Mix everything together well in a mixing bowl and then roll into balls
  2. This recipe makes about 20 meatballs in total- usually I will split this into two which is around 10-12 meatballs per meal which is good for two people. I will wrap them in foil. I will cook one and freeze one for another meal. These freeze very well.
  3. To cook: add to crockpot in the morning or mid-afternoon with a jar of tomato sauce and let simmer all day on low cook for around 5-6 hours
  4. If you rather cook in the oven, add on a baking sheet with some tomato sauce and bake on 350 F for 30 minutes (flipping half way through cooking)
