With everyone outside enjoying the beautiful weather, patio nights and days by the pool- whip up an easy appetizer to impress right on the grill with this grilled brie cheese with fresh berries. I have made this with a few combinations but this has to be my favorite with the honey and balsamic glaze making it the perfect sweet and savory combination. I love serving this up for the long weekend get togethers like Memorial Day, Fourth of July and going into the Summer months. It is easy to make, requires minimal ingredients and it always a hit. Best served with a glass of chilled white wine or Pinot Noir. I think we can all agree that brie cheese is the best melty cheese is the world!

Quality of brie cheese matters! I always recommend using a brie cheese that is French- brie cheese originated in France so if it is French you know it’s creamy, has notes of mushroom and will melt really well! When melted, the cheaper brie cheeses can often pool with oil which means they aren’t the best quality and stuffed with fillers & additives. When making baked brie, spend a little bit more on the cheese to make sure it’s a quality one.
Substitutions: if you want to substitute berries for something else then try dicing up some peaches or just adding on your favorite jam for a hint of sweetness. there are lots of different flavor combinations that work here for this BBQ grilled brie cheese.
You’ll want to use a cast iron pan or skillet that is oven/BBQ safe for this. If you do not have a BBQ then you can always bake this in the oven at 400 F for 10- 12 minutes.

TIP: drizzle the honey on AFTER this bakes! If you bake the honey it becomes very liquidy and watery. It’s always best to put on after for a garnish to keep its original form. Honey when melted at high temperature also looses its nutritional value.
