You know it’s a good recipe when aunt Donna has been making this for years. My aunt Donna (which is actually my husbands aunt but I call her my aunt because at this point we should be throwing dinner parties together considering how AMAZING she also is at hosting and making good food). She is the creator of the famous caramelized onion dip which if you have made before you KNOW how good it is. This one is a MUST make too. It is one of those appetizers that always impresses a crowd! 🧀 🥦
It can be prepared ahead of time and is best served chilled with pumpernickel bread. Make this for holiday get togethers, Thanksgiving, Christmas or game day and I promise you that everyone will be asking for the recipe!

Ingredients for Broccoli Cheddar Dip
What I love about this recipe is that is it easy to make. There is no need to cut the broccoli after cooking it as it breaks up easily with the other ingredients when mixed in. It is really easy to make this and honestly impossible to mess up. If you are looking for a thicker dip, add more cheddar cheese!
You can also bake this dip too by adding it to the oven to bake for 15 minutes at 350 F. I prefer it chilled but try it baked too if you’d like!
This is a comfort cheesy appetizer dip that is perfect to serve up for Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving and going into the holiday parties and Christmas- even for game day. Serve up as an appetizer or even aside dish for people to dip a crusty bread into.
Here are all the ingredients that you’ll need for this recipe:
Sharp cheddar cheese
Broccoli
Mayonaise
Sour Cream
Leek recipe mix
Cheese – Aunt Donna HIGHLY recommends you use a sharp cheddar cheese- this type of cheddar has way more flavor and compliments the flavor of the broccoli very well!
Leek Recipe Mix- This can be bought on amazon or at any grocery store! It is by Knoor and honestly, I always buy extra to have on hand for dips or soups. It really adds to much flavor to this dip and I would highly suggest adding it in. They are super inexpensive to buy on amazon!
Mayonnaise – Aunt Donna always says use Hellmann’s Mayo, always! I don’t ask questions, I just do what Aunt Donna says. Use Hellmann’s!
When Aunt Donna first sent me this recipe it called for a cup of mayo but I split this into mayo and sour cream- you can do what I did OR use a full cup of full fat mayo, either way it will tase delicious!
